Newbee is an eSports club based in China. The team was founded by Zhang “Xiao8” Ning and is sponsored by Chinese billionaire Wang “Niuwa” Yue. Called by Dota 2 community a Dream Team, Newbee is top 4 ranked team in the world Dota2 ranking and number two in China.

With a relatively short history behind, NewBee is one of the best Dota2 eSports teams, the winner from The International 2014. It’s interesting that even if the fact that Newbee was nearly eliminated from the group stage, they manage to win the tournament and bring $5,028,308 to home.

Newbee team competes only in the Dota2 discipline at this moment. With composition full of very experienced Dota2 players, the team is still the favorite in almost every major tournament in which participate.

NewBee History

History of creating team NewBee is more than interesting. It happened in early 2014, during the Chinese reshuffle before International 2014. The rumors about the team, started immediately after captain “xiao8”, made a post on his blog, where he said that its time for a new start, after 3 years in LGD. At the beginning, rumors placed Mu, Faith, Hao and ChuaN from TongFu and Invictus Gaming as teammates of xiao8. A few weeks later, a team was announced as a participant of Sina Cup, even if the roster was not yet revealed. On the 23rd of February 2014, the Chinese ACE Dota organization announced that the transfers were complete and the now dubbed team “Newbee” consisted of xiao8, Mu, Hao, KingJ and ZSMJ. We can accept 28th February as the official date of establishing the NewBee.
