Cloud9 or c9, in short, is an American multi-gaming organization. Sponsored by HTC and previously known as Cloud9 G2A, it fields teams in a variety of games. Always quite stable but always at the foothills of the titles. Cloud9 is so close to the 1st place in a lot of tournaments, but just something is not enough for them to reach the top.

Founded in 2012, nowadays Cloud9 is one of the most successful American gaming organizations. The company is currently well-known mostly because of its League of Legends and Counter-Strike Global Offensive teams. In 2015, their Heroes of the Storm team won the 2015 Heroes of the Storm World Championship. C9 teams are well sponsored by some of the biggest companies related to eSporst – Logitech, HTC, Loot Gaming, G2A, ZOWIE and more.

Currently, Cloud9 is represented in a variety of games.  As we mentioned, organization teams are the one in Counter-Strike Global Offensive and League of Legends. Along with them, Cloud 9 have teams in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Overwatch, Smite, and VainGlory. Formerly they had teams in Dota 2 and Heroes of the Storm.

Cloud9 History

Despite the fact that the organization is founded four years ago, Cloud9 is having an incredible history so far. Of course, the League of Legends team is the one with the biggest history. C9 LoL competes in the North American League of Legends Championship Series back in 2013, finished at second place.  At the end of the Season, the team managed to reach top 5, which was a big success then.  2015 and 2016 were also very good for the team, with 3rd place at regular season in 2016. With that prestigious place, they secured their spot at WORLDS FINALS 2016.

Cloud9 acquired CompLexity Gaming’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in August 2014. The team left CompLexity after it received a better offer from C9 before renewing their contract with their previous team. Over the years, the team has undergone lot of changes to reach its current composition with Stewie2k, n0thing, shroud, automatic and

On February 9, 2014, Cloud9 acquired the roster of Speed Gaming, consisting of Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, Weh Sing “SingSing” Yuen, Pittner “bOne7” Armand, Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, and Johan “pieliedie” Åström to become their Dota 2 team. On November 27, 2016, the team announced their second and last disband.
